Bucks Mourn the Loss Of Jim Dempsey,

Voice of the Bucks

Jim “Jazz” Dempsey died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 28, 2010.  This was a tragic loss not only for the Dempsey family, but for the Dunmore Bucks Family and our entire community.

We will remember Jim not only as one half of our Voice of the Bucks Football & Basketball broadcast team, but first and foremost as a wonderful father, brother, uncle and friend.

Jim was a  1972 graduate of Dunmore High School and received an associate degree in paralegal studies from Lackawanna College.  He was employed by the Greater Scranton YMCA as a much loved swim instructor & lifeguard.  He was a member of St. Pauls/St. Clare’s Church, Scranton.  He was past president of Green Ridge Little League and also coached for Green Ridge biddy basketball league.  He was president of Green Ridge Neighborhood Association and was a former assistant women’s basketball coach at Lackawanna College.

Jim was the life of every party and had a wonderful sense of humor which was obvious in all of the broadcasts.  He loved watching his children, nieces and nephews in all their sporting events (J.J. Dempsey who played for the bucks 2005-2008 seasons, and Jordan Dempsey a bucks current player are both nephews).  He especially enjoyed spending summers at his Lake Ariel home.  Jim was an avid New York Yankees fan.

Jim will be missed by all who knew him.  The Dempsey family & the Dunmore Bucks family will have a void that is very difficult to fill.

RIP JAZZ
